Every year hundreds of local real estate industry insiders, from developers and builders, to brokers and investors, flock to Dietrick Group’s annual presentation to learn the temperature of the Lehigh Valley real estate market: Where are the hot spots? Which sectors are thriving and which could use a leg up?

“This past year was one of continued activity across the board, albeit a little slow in some sectors,” noted Linda Dietrick, founder and managing partner of Dietrick Group, LLC. “We’re not out of the woods yet, but there has been moderate, tempered growth throughout the Valley.”

It’s these bright spots that Dietrick and her team will highlight at the 8th Annual Lehigh Valley Commercial Real Estate Presentation on May 1. Dietrick also will forecast what’s in store for the coming year.

Attendees can look forward to a walking video tour of Allentown’s “City Center” development, led by Jim Gentile, president of North Star Construction Management, as well as an introduction to the city’s proposed “Waterfront” development, led by developers Andy Twiggar and Ryan Dunn, of Dunn Twiggar Company, LLC, and Zachary Jaindl, senior operations officer of Jaindl Properties.

The event guest list mimics a “Who’s Who” roster in local commercial real estate and has grown exponentially from a smattering of attendees at the meeting’s first incarnation in 2006 to this May, when the guest list numbers nearly 400.

The draw?

“They’re not going to get this information as concise anywhere else,” Dietrick said. “Not in such a nice and fun package.”

Each year Dietrick selects a venue that reflects a new area highlight, be it the Rave Movie Theatre, Coca Cola Park, Mack Trucks, ArtsQuest Center at Steel Stacks, the Sands Casino or, last year, Allentown Symphony Hall. This year, the presentation will be all rock, bowl and real estate at Revolutions Saucon Valley.

“As we worked through potential venues, we just loved the playful elegance of Bethlehem’s newest hot spot,” Dietrick noted.

The meeting will be followed by networking, hors d’oeuvres and drinks in Revolutions’ Red Brick Grille.
